My mom said for the longest time that she never dyed her hair. We used to ask her every few months if she dyed it. “Never”. Decades later, she quietly released this zinger: “I rinse it.”

I love this so much Jason. Also - no mention of Jean Nate?!

The sophisticated singular note ‘Jean Nate’ hits you like a freight train when you least expect. Although I love this post, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little shocked and deeply disappointed that you failed to include Jean Nate on what I might consider your maiden voyage. Jean Nate: post haste.

I am here for the bang conversation! I had a committed heavy straight across set of bangs for over a decade. With not one but TWO cowlicks. One each side :) the heaviness and the sheer amount of hair I had kept things in check. Fast forward to my now later 40's and my hair is thinner (thank heavens for the stupid amount I once had) and I grew out my bangs ..... (I also grew out my silver but that's another story) It took about a year and then once it was a lovely long section about level with my ears ... I cut my fringe back in hahah not quite as heavy and now I deal with the flick. All this to say I think your bangs are fabulous a little wild cowlick action never hurt anyone! Cheering you on! 😎

I have a cowlick and bangs. Sorry, I can't say bangs, we say fringe here, so that's what I'm calling it. When I was 4, I had a perfect half fringe, with one side of my forehead on show because my cowlick just made my hair grow that way. Mum made me grow out my fringe and said I could never have one again. I shaved my hair a decade ago and when it was growing back and I had to use products to hold it down I decided to give a fringe a try. There's still a bit of a gap if my cowlick has its way, but I much prefer this fringe than a mile of forehead.

You know the pain of this! I put dry shampoo on my bangs this morning and it was the very wrong thing to do for my cowlick - just accentuated the curl!

The amount of my life taken up by thinking about, caring about, fussing with my bangs is YEARS! Good luck on your journey. Send dispatches. Drink water.

At two! different! times! in the 2010s I got straight across Zooey Deschanel bangs and learned the consequences of hubris and fine hair. Being stuck in bangs purgatory is terrible but it will be worth it and you’re looking as fabulous as ever!

You’re looking fabulous in this grow out process. I don’t have a cowlick, but I had bangs from the age of 5 through 14 and let me tell you the grow out process wasn’t this pretty. I was at the end of middle school (an already awk time) and wore clips, yes clips, on either side of the bangs to hold them back from my face. Will search for the blackmail photos. Stay strong my friend.

I always used to want bangs and then I tried them. They do not work with my texture of hair/head shape and have been forced to accept this.

LOVE Fashion Brand! You’re the second person I know who has worn one of their dresses recently. Yeay!

So obsessed with them. Their clothes but also their IDGF marketing making fun of the whole brand marketing thing, it's genius.

I also had a journey with bangs .. it was emotional! The cowlick is for real. Good luck on your adventure... and it’s making me want to ‘re-bangify’ my hair!

You’re speaking to the choir. I was in the no-bangs black hole for years after my hairdresser betrayed me by quitting to sell real estate. I just found a guy who gave me back my bangs, and my life! I, too, have the cowlick but I don’t let that stop me.

That wig was so incredible. I have tons of cowlicks. They’re infuriating. AndI have one on the right side of my where my bangs once were. Growing them out is a journey, but you always look incredible.
