Yes! As someone who doesn’t even like to drink soda I was shocked by how realistic it was while still smelling like something I would want to smell like

Agree with you, Christina, on this: 2025 needs to turn this car around and start over. It's eerie times right now.

I'm new to perfume and love the Maison Louis Marie No 04 Bois De Balincourt although it smells a tiny bit like pickles on me. Parisian Music and Into the Oud sound v intriguing! Thank you for sharing LA resources :)

Gabar is a new favorite! I have the mini sampler and I can see myself purchasing a full size bottle of Rise AND Lull. Happy to find another fragrance Substack!!

What a wonderful curation of acquisitions and wants! thought Parisian musc was at the top of my to l-buy list after spraying it in store, but I had a strange experience with the sample vial in their discovery set—it was way less strong, almost a “nothing” scent no matter how much I used, whereas the one I sprayed in store was present and mesmerizing. (My wife smelled the sample too and had the same reaction so it wasn’t just me having an off day.) I’m pretty new to niche perfume shopping, is something like this an explainable phenomenon? Should I risk purchasing?

Yes! There is something called anosmia where certain people can't smell particular notes, and it can be more common with musky notes so that is totally possible! I have this issue with Dedcool's Milk - I can not smell it AT ALL like I get one whiff, and then it totally disappears for me. Which is why I prefer Xtra Milk from them.
