I have been playing D&D off and on since the original Red Box and this is the very first time I’ve ever seen someone refer to a Dungeon Master as the “Dungeon Daddy”. That’s hilarious and gives me uncomfortable feelings at the same time.
I wish my experience of sharing D&D with my wife had gone as well as things went for you. To be fair, it was entirely my fault because it was like my second time playing with this group and they were all new acquaintances. Nothing really traumatic happened, but one of the players was a rules lawyer type who kept pulling out supplemental manuals anytime a role didn’t go his way trying to argue things in his favor. It made the session incredibly tedious. I like the game and even I was bored.
This post makes me very happy. My favourite thing to do is to match people / characters / books / films / music, to perfumes. I do this twice weekly for @onthescentpodcast, in my various writing jobs, and shall be doing this soon when I’m a guest again on the wonderful Paperback Perfumes podcast. God I love my job, and the wonderful people I get to encounter along the way!
I am so late to this post but this was incredible, thanks for sharing. I love the fragrance pairings and how you layered one on to suit Sue's character more.
Ahhh I play (v casual) dnd with a group of women from my neighborhood and I am definitely sending this to the group chat!! And am a big frag freaqué and yet never thought of trying to channel my character by scent?! So ashamed of this oversight hahaha 😂 fantastic choices & love the visuals also 💗
Hahaha yes ! Thank you for reading and for sharing. A whole new world has just opened up for you!! Bring your scents to the next game and pair with the characters - it's so much fun!
Also def going to think about scent next time I create a character!! Just laughing at myself bcs it’s such a part of how I get dressed or think about presenting myself but I somehow never thought to carry it over to DND other than some fun candles hahaha. So excited to subscribe to dry down 💯
This is THE most delightful post. This is what perfume is all about: an experience to add to our own experiences, all of them!
Thank you Heather! Totally agree with you. <3
Oh my god I legitimately want to join in 😆 I’ve never played DnD but did love computer games as a kid! There’s a certain escapism that is so wonderful
It is incredibly fun!

I’m 56 and I married a DM! I played for over 20 years. Love the perfume matches!
Love that!

Oh how fun! And yes perfume pairings with fictional characters are so much fun to do.

LOVE this random combo of DnD and DDD haha.
Love perfume pairing with stories and characters. I’ve always wanted to play D&D! I need to gather some friends…
Hi, I’m Robin and I’m a D&D DM/player too, just turned 61 this month. I play other games too. Started playing about 5 years ago. 😊😊😊
❣️🐲💚🐉🧚♀️🙌🤗 THIS post, pure JOY!
Thank you Suzanne!
So I don’t have to worry about my son and his friends Sunday gatherings after all. Phew.
It’s really hard to pull off “so nerdy it’s cool” but this is for sure what’s happening here!!!!
Ha! I absolutely love this. What a cool connection you've been able to create between two seemingly unrelated activities. Pure genius.
